The QED XT40i follows on from its 'Five Star' big brother the XT400 and recently won the 'Best Speaker Cable' award by What Hifi 2014, thanks to its superb performance and fantastic price tag.
The XT40i features QED X-Tube technology that ultimately results in lower distortion, a higher frequency detail and allows for a greater overall performance. In technical terms this is due to removing the centre of the conductor and placing it at the periphery of the electric field.
The XT40i cable also features a 4mm2 cross-sectional area that creates a very low resistance, providing the amplifier with complete control over the speakers they are driving.
For best results the XT40i should be used with banana plugs. These are not included and are sold separately in the cable accessories section.
The QED XT40i utilises outstanding technology and produces exceptional results for such a low-priced cable, it's really no surprise it won the What Hifi 2014 award.
