The HDI-1600 bookshelf loudspeaker is designed to deliver remarkable performance within a compact enclosure. Featuring a 2-way design with patented High-Definition Imaging (HDI) waveguide technology, the speaker incorporates the patented 2410H-2 1-inch (25mm) compression driver and a 6.5-inch (165mm) Advanced Aluminum Matrix cone woofer. These components ensure powerful dynamics and incredibly precise sound reproduction.
Innovative HDI Waveguide Technology
JBL's HDI waveguide technology is the outcome of extensive research into waveguide design nuances. This innovation focuses on achieving exceptional high-frequency detail and uniform directivity. It results in a neutral frequency response, both on- and off-axis, ensuring a seamless transition between high and low frequency drivers for a consistent audio experience.
Advanced Compression Driver
The 2410H-2 compression driver benefits from JBL Professional's 'D2' range of transducers, featuring a lightweight annular diaphragm that enhances high-frequency extension by reducing diaphragm mass. The V-shaped geometry of the annular diaphragm reduces distortion, resulting in impressive dynamics with accurate sound reproduction and minimal power compression.
Engineered HDI Woofers
Utilising core JBL engineering techniques, the HDI woofers ensure high output with minimal distortion. Featuring a long-throw voice coil, symmetrical field motor design, flux stabilization ring, and copper shorting ring, these woofers offer maximum output while significantly reducing distortion. The Advanced Aluminum Matrix cones provide a rigid, lightweight diaphragm, eliminating breakup modes and ensuring proper pistonic motion across the operating band.
Solid Enclosure for Superior Acoustics
The HDI-1600 enclosure is robustly braced to establish a solid acoustic foundation. It incorporates a bass reflex design with a rear-firing, computer-optimized flared port. The sleekly curved cabinet is finished in a choice of automotive-grade painted High Gloss Black or furniture-grade satin Walnut or Grey Oak wood veneers, complemented by a magnetically attached black cloth grille.
Realistic Dynamics and Lifelike Sound
D2-derived compression drivers and HDI waveguides combine to deliver incredibly realistic dynamics and lifelike imaging. The engineered HDI woofers ensure high output with minimal distortion, providing an immersive listening experience for both music and movies.
