Chord Clearway X speaker cable is the latest version in the multi-award winning series from Chord. It features two high-density foil shields, a twisted-pair configuration and a clear protective PVC jacket for a highly effective level of shielding up to high frequencies. The insulation affects a cable's ability to carry signals accurately, and also has an effect on its tonal characteristics.
The silver-plated conductors are built from multi-strand oxygen-free copper and are arranged in a twisted-pair configuration. The performance has recently been significantly improved by changing the insulation from FEP to XLPE. Hence the new name. Choice of insulation has a profound effect on a speaker cable and contributes to its neutrality. The wrong choice of insulation can produce unwanted tonal colouration.
