Audio Technica AT-LPW30 Turntable - Unboxing and setting up

If you're looking for a turntable that not only performs well, but looks good and is somewhat part of a furniture masterpiece, your options are limited. Unless of course, you have about £900 spare to spend on Project's 'The Classic' turntable. Now obviously, we cannot quite compare the two together, the price difference alone speaks volumes here and gives you a general indication that the Project turntable is a couple of leagues away from the LPW30. But from what we have found, the LPW30 is a very good turntable that gives others at this price range a spin for their money. Priced at a very respectable £269.00, we decided to do a quick video of us unboxing this little gem and setting it up for first time use.

The main features of this very neat turntable include:

- Teak effect wood veneer finish
- Connect directly to speakers at home with the built-in phono preamplifier
- Fully manual, belt-drive operation with two speeds: 33-1/3 and 45 RPM
- Professional anti-resonance, die-cast aluminium platter with rubber mat
- AT-HS4 headshell and AT-VM95C Dual Moving Magnet phono cartridge

We are huge fans of this new turntable by Audio Technica and have already featured it in our turntable basics blog post which you can read here: https://www.superfi.co.uk/what-turntable-is-best-for-me-the-basics
