A new standard in direct-drive turntables for audiophiles and vinyl enthusiasts alike, the Technics Grand Class SL-1210GR Direct-Drive Turntable combines unique technology developed by Technics for a modern turntable of the digital age with all of the warmth we love from playing our vinyl records.
For a long-lasting constantly reliable turntable that won't require replacement parts, Technics have focused on a direct-drive system rather than belt-driven. This system uses a motor to drive the platter directly rather than driving a belt which in turn moves the platter. Using the latest motor control technology and a coreless direct-drive motor developed by Technics for the 2016 SL-1200G and updated for the SL-1200GR and SL-1210GR, the 1210GR's technology eliminates much of the vibrations and noise caused by the motor and other mechanisms in the turntable allowing for an incredibly smooth, stable rotation and accurate playback.
The Technics SL-1210GR focuses on pursuing the ultimate combination for a smooth, vibration-free, clear playback. The weighty die-cast aluminium 2.5kg platter is built using a two-layer construction including a rubber layer covering the entire rear surface to dampen unwanted resonance from across the platter. The body of the SL-1210GR applies the same two-layered technique of the platter. The aluminium die-cast chassis finished in black keeps the turntable rigid whilst silicon rubber insulators on the lower side of the plinth and feet absorb vibrations from the surface meaning all you will hear is the sweet sound of your vinyl.
Precision is everything in SL-1210GR with the tonearm hand assembled and manually adjusted in Japan before packaging. As with all Technics turntables, a lightweight yet rigid aluminium construction is employed allowing for an accurate, sensitive playback from the universal S-shaped static-balance type tonearm. A gimbal suspension and high-precision bearings in the SL-1210GR all ensure a highly sensitive and accurate tracking of your records.
With both grounding terminals and a gold plated RCA output for your own choice of cables below the tonearm , you can select your own cables to suit your entire system.
With the SL-1210GR, Technics delivers a timeless classic that will bring a new breath of life to your vinyl collection.
