What Hifi Awards 2009
Best Blu-ray Player up to £300
"Put simply, if you're after a budget Blu-ray player, you should start and finish your search right here".

The Sony BDP-S360 is a Blu-Ray and DVD (multiregion) player, also supporting CD, JPEG and MP3 formats, and the AVC-HD high definition video format. With a compact, sleek design, fast operation and fantastic picture quality, the BDPS360 is a great value Blu-ray player.

The BDP-S360 can deliver "1080p", the highest resolution video found on Blu-ray discs, creating an incredibly stable image on your HD ready flatscreen. The player also supports video at 24 frames per second which, on compatible displays, delivers films at exactly the same frame rate as they were shot. Compared with conventional 25 frame video playback from DVD this delivers a truer image with smoother motion: it's the closest you'll get to what the director intended. The BDP-S360 also upscales DVDs to 1080p high-definition, so your existing movie collection will look better than ever.

The Sony BDP-S360 also boasts high definition audio playback in the form of Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The player is capable of 5.1 and 7.1 channel output of the highest quality soundtracks via its HDMI output, delivering the best movie sound to your sound-system. If your amplifier can't process HDMI audio the BDPS360 is equipped with coaxial and optical digital outputs.

The Sony '360 also supports the latest BD-Live Blu-ray profile, meaning you can download extra content such as games, deleted scenes or trailers for compatible discs. As if that weren't enough, this great player is operated using Sony's intuitive XrossMediaBar graphic menu screens, making it easy to use as well as great to watch.
