The Sony BDP-S350 is a Blu-Ray and DVD (multiregion) player, also supporting CD, JPEG and MP3 formats, and the AVC-HD high definition video format. With sleek, compact styling and fast operation the BDPS350 is a pleasure to live with.
When used to its fullest potential, the Sony BDPS350 delivers "1080p", the highest resolution video as found on Blu-Ray discs, creating an incredibly stable image on your HD ready flatscreen. The player also supports video at 24 frames per second which, on compatible displays, delivers films at exactly the same frame rate as they were shot. Compared with conventional 25 frame video playback from DVD this delivers a truer image with smoother motion: it's the closest you'll get to what the director intended. The BDP-S350 also upscales DVDs to 1080p high-definition, so your existing movie collection will look better than ever.
The Sony BDP-S350 also boasts high definition audio playback in the form of Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The player is capable of 5.1 and 7.1 channel output of the highest quality soundtracks via its HDMI output, delivering the best movie sound to your sound-system. If your amplifier can't process HDMI audio the BDPS350 is equipped with coaxial and optical digital outputs. The BDP-S350 is supplied from Sony as Blu-ray Profile 1.1 but is upgradeable to the Blu-ray Profile 2.0 'BD Live' standard. Just connect the player to the Internet and you'll be able to download the firmware update for free.
