Combining superb full 1080p HD upscaled DVD playback with fantastic DVD and Hard Disc recording from Freeview, the LG RHT497H is a complete playback, recording and archiving solution that won't break the bank.
HDMI connectivity means that you'll only need a single cable to carry both HD 1080p upscaled video and audio to your HDMI equipped HD-Ready flatscreen. If you have an older set, don't worry as there's also component video and Scart connections too. Upscaled DVD pictures are fantastic and will let you enjoy all your favourite movies all over again, in HD.
But playback is only half the story. The RHT497 can record to its integrated 160GB hard disk or to virtually any type of recordable DVD disc. 160GBs is enough space to record up to approximately 470 hours and, if you decide you want to keep something, just archive it to DVD! Additionally, if you have an old VCR and a pile of old video tapes, you can attach it to the HR400 via its Scart connection and copy your old tapes to the hard disc or to DVD. There's also a USB socket for playback of DivX movies, MP3 music and JPEG photo files from compatible memory sticks, flash drives and portable MP3 players and a DV input for recording from digital camcorders.
The HR400 also features advanced Freeview+ functionality that lets you pause and rewind live TV! You never have to miss the ending of Poirot when the phone rings, and why not just pause the football while you make a cup of tea?
