Onkyo live up to their reputation for affordable and extremely capable home cinema receivers, by presenting the TX-SR577. Sitting between the TX-SR507 (5.1 channel) and the TX-SR607 (7.1 with video format conversion and upscaling), the '577 is an exhilarating and immersing 7.1 channel receiver with a very reasonable price tag.
With 4 HDMI inputs, the TXSR577 lets you easily connect all your devices and with HD 1080p video pass-through and DTS-HD Master Audio/High Resolution Audio, Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus decoding, ideal for use with Blu-ray players or upscaling DVD players. Like its bigger brother (the TXSR607) the 577 also features support for the new Dolby Pro Logic IIz. With the Pro Logic IIz processing the 577 can give 'height' to the soundstage by driving two speakers positioned above your screen (as well as the normal fronts and centre). This creates extra space and a more realistic soundfield, meaning you feel even more involved in the film
The TX-SR577 also features the Audyssey 2EQ and Dynamic EQ auto-microphone calibration systems. This makes setting up and fine-tuning your speaker system a doddle. It will even correct for distortions caused by room shapes and furniture, ensuring the best listening experience possible for your living room.
With superb and incredibly immersing 7.1ch surround sound, fantastic audio format decoding functionality and convenient 1080p video HDMI pass-though, the Onkyo TX-SR577 is great home cinema receiver.
