The PR-SC886 Pre-Amplifier sits at the top of the Onkyo's home cinema range. Featuring an awesome specification that delivers the ultimate in sound and video processing, including video resolution upscaling and format conversion, THX Ultra2 plus processing and decoding of all standard and high defenition audio formats, the PRSC886 is a truly high end processor suitable for the finest AV systems.
Not only does this amp switch and convert all your video inputs to HDMI or component outputs, it enhances them with full 1080p upscaling using one of the best processors on the market - the Hollywood Quality Video (HQV) Reon VX processor. Furthermore this Onkyo has two HDMI outputs, meaning you can easily connect all your sources to a flatscreen TV and a Projector at the same time! No more pulling cables out when you want to swap displays! The PRSC886 also has an option for ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) video calibration. Like the best plasmas and projectors, the Onkyo's video settings can be calibrated by an ISF accredited engineer (not included) to guarantee the finest picture performance.
The Onkyo PRSC886 handles all current sound formats from Dolby and DTS, with full support for TrueHD and Master Audio encoding. THX Ultra2 Plus certification ensures you are getting the highest levels of quality and includes THX decoding to convert 5.1 soundtracks to 7.1.
Unlike home cinema amplifiers, where large, power-hungry amplifier channels share the same power supply and interfere with the delicate pre-amplified signals, the PR-SC886 is only a processor. It maintains the cleanest, most accurate audio signals before passing them to a dedicated power amplifier to amplify and send on to your speakers.
And for a sophisticated Onkyo receiver, a sophisticated Onkyo remote controller, with learning compatibility and macro functions giving numerous functions from a single button press.
