Like their passive brothers (the 5-star rated AE22 Speakers), the Acoustic Energy AE22 Active speakers deliver the same studio grade performance but each speaker also features a built in amplifier.
The two-way closed box design features a 200mm pressed alloy low frequency driver and a 25mm "ring radiator" high frequency driver with Neodymium magnet. Each speaker is driven by its own built-in, class A-B 160 watt amplifier.
The robust build and top-notch performance of the AE22 Active speakers show their intended use as high quality recording studio monitors, making them ideal for DJ setups and home studios, too.
