The Sony HTD-890IS is a home cinema system with 5.1 surround sound, DVD playback, Freeview reception and recording to DVD or the built in hard disc. Featuring tiny, incredibly discreet satellite speakers and a powerful subwoofer, the HTD890IS's audio performance is very impressive. DVD playback is superb thanks to the video upscaling which makes movies look fantastic on HD ready LCD and plasma televisions. Recording to DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW or the hard disc is made easy by the on-screen display and electronic programme guide that can make setting up timed recordings as easy as a couple of button presses.

You have the option to add a "Multi-region upgrade", in the order box below. As
standard, the HTD890IS will play all DVDs bought in the UK and Europe (known as
"Region 2"). This upgrade enables the playback of discs bought in the rest of
the world (all other DVD regions) and the cost simply addresses the time it
takes us to carry out this upgrade.
Additionally, you also make your rear speakers wireless - just add the
WAHT-SA1 S-Air module using the option in the order box, at the foot of this page.
