Based on the hugely successful TXSR505, the Onkyo TXSR506 is a 7.1 channel home cinema receiver featuring an excellent feature count for the price. Superb Onkyo design and build quality make this a great buy.
Three HDMI inputs and one output (supporting 1080p pass-through switching) make the TXSR-506 ideal for use with DVD or Blu-ray. There's also component video, S-Video and composite video inputs and outputs.
The TX-SR506 features a myriad of audio options. It can be configured for 7.1, 5.1 with or without bi-amplified front speakers and also features both a second zone speaker out and line out. There's decoding of Dolby Digital and DTS and the good selection of equalisation modes allow you to tune the TXSR506's sound to your listening taste. The advanced Audyssey 2EQ auto-microphone calibration system also makes set-up a breeze - plug in the microphone, push a few buttons on the remote, and the system is ready to go.
