The BD-P1500 is Samsung's 4th generation Blu-ray player and sports some fantastic features not found on earlier models. If you haven't gone HD yet, the BDP-1500 is a great way to do it.
Full HDMI v1.3 connectivity lets you take advantage of the latest high definition content. The BDP1500 will output top-notch 1080p images from Blu-ray discs and will also upscale DVDs to 720p, 1080i or 1080p. This means you get the sharpest, most stable image for both Blu-ray and DVD - the best of both worlds!
Apart from Dolby Digital and DTS, the BDP1500 also decodes the latest high definition audio formats including Dolby Digital Plus and lossless Dolby TrueHD. These formats deliver incredibly high quality audio and will make your movies sound breathtaking. Furthermore, the BDP1500 will output all these audio formats via HDMI, so you'll only need one cable running to your television or receiver/amplifier.
The BDP1500 is also profile 1.1 compliant*, which enables the use of advanced Blu-ray disc features such as picture in picture (PIP) modes. For example, while you watch a movie, the director appears in a small window in the corner of the screen and gives you simultaneous commentary.
Superlative performance and features, the Samsung BDP 1500 will deliver a Blu-Ray experience that is hard to beat.
*Samsung plan to release a freely available firmware update that will make the BD-P1500 Profile 2.0 (BD Live) complaint - enabling Internet-based Blu-ray content. It will also add support for the DTS-HD audio format. The update can be installed by the user at home by downloading the update file from the Samsung website and burning it to a CD. Alternatively the player can be connected to the Internet via its LAN socket and then be told to automatically search for new updates. See the PDF instructions below for the CD method.
