The Onkyo LS-V501 is an impressive home cinema system which is unobtrusively designed, boasts excellent visual and audio performance and has bags of functionality to boot.
The package consists of a DR-S501 DVD player/receiver and the HTP-501 2.1 speaker package. Together they make a complete, home cinema solution.
The DVD player/receiver boasts HDMI connectivity (1 in, 1 out) with video upscaling to 720p or 1080i - so your DVDs will look fantastic, especially on a large LCD or plasma television. There's also component video (with progressive scan), SCART and composite video connections which will suit the vast majority of older televisions. Apart from DVDs, the LSV501 will also play DivX movies - the popular format often used to share video over the Internet, MP3 and WMA music files, and your JPEG photos.
For you audiophiles and music connoisseurs, the LSV501 supports DVD-Audio and Super Audio CDs - features not usually found in "all-in-one" systems. The LSV501's speakers are also top notch. The high performance satellites and impressive subwoofer make both movies and music sound fantastic.
