The Sony BDP-S300 is a Blu-Ray and DVD player, also supporting CD, JPEG and MP3 formats, and the AVC-HD high definition video format.
When used to its fullest potential, the Sony BDPS300 delivers "1080p", the highest resolution video as found on Blu-Ray discs, in "progressive scan" format, creating an incredibly stable image on your HD ready flatscreen. The player also supports video at 24 frames per second which, on compatible displays, delivers films at exactly the same frame rate as they were shot. Compared with conventional 25 frame video playback from DVD, this delivers a truer image with no lossy frame-rate conversion: it's the closest you'll get to film. The BDP-S300 also upscales DVDs to 1080p high-definition, so your existing movie collection will look better than ever.
The Sony BDP-S300 also boasts high definition audio playback in the form of Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The player is capable of 5.1 and 7.1 channel output and has both digital and analogue (5.1) outputs, delivering the best movie sound to your sound-system.
