The Audiolab 8000AP is a home cinema pre-amplifier designed to get the best audio performance from both stereo and multi-channel analogue and digital sources.
What makes the 8000AP stand out is its HDMI connectivity and switching capabilities. It features decoding of the popular Dolby Digital and DTS formats and also supports 192kHz Linear PCM with up to 7.1 channels making it ideal for use with HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players that ouput Dolby TruHD or DTS-HD as PCM. The 8000 AP can strip the audio from an HDMI audio/video signal, output the unaltered video via HDMI and process the audio for output via any of the analogue or digital outputs. There's also support for stereo and 5.1 channel analogue sources, both optical and coaxial digital inputs and there's a 7.1 analogue output too!
