The Denon S-52DAB is a compact HiFi system with an impressive feature list and specification. Crammed into the smart case are a slot loading CD player, DAB, AM & FM with RDS radio tuners, both WiFi and wired Ethernet networking for Internet radio and media streaming, a discrete iPod dock and alarm functionality so you can use any of these sources to wake yourself up in the morning.
The Denon S52DAB is synonymous with versatility. As well as standard music CDs, the S52 will play CD-R and CD-RW discs, so discs created on your PC or Mac will play fine, even those containing MP3 or WMA files. If it's MP3 playback you're after, then you're reading about the right product. The S52 is compatible with all MP3 players either by USB connection or by using the stereo (aux) in socket on the front panel. If you have an Apple iPod then you can slot it into the S52's integrated dock. This not only charges your iPod while you listen to your songs on the S52's powerful speakers, but also allows you to control the iPod using the S52's remote control.
If radio is your thing then you'll be spoilt for choice. There's traditional AM and FM radio of course, but also DAB reception so you can receive the latest digtial stations and with the wired and WiFi networking functions, the S 52 can use your Internet connection to access over 7,000 online Internet radio stations. But that's not all. The networking features even allow you to stream media files stored on your PC or Mac directly to the S 52. That's right, while your computer sits in the bedroom or study, you can be listening to its music in the living room.
