The Sony BDP-S1ES is a Blu-Ray and DVD player, delivering pictures at a jaw-dropping 1920x1080 resolution, for the sharpest high-definition pictures.
At its best, it'll support "1080/24p". This represents a combination of the highest resolution video in "progressive scan" format - which delivers an incredibly stable image on your HD ready flatscreen - and 24 frame per second playback which, on compatible displays, delivers films at exactly the same frame rate as they were shot. Compared with conventional 25 frame video playback from DVD, this delivers a truer image with no lossy frame-rate conversion: it's the closest you'll get to film!
The BDPS1ES also plays MP3 & JPEG photos from CD & DVD, for greater multimedia flexibility.
