The Audiolab 8000AV is an audiophile home cinema processor with extraordinary pedigree. Based on the £2,500 Tag McLaren AV30 AV Processor, this Audiolab does everything that the Tag model did - for a fraction of the price!
It features advanced, audiophile SHARC DSP processing, which delivers superb home cinema effects from Dolby Digital and DTS recordings and super-sensitive analogue and digital input stages which enable subtle input-by-input adjustments to perfectly match and balance your system's audio performance, from all your sources.
Advanced decoding includes HDCD high-resolution performance from the ever-increasing range of HDCD recordings and the Audiolab also features numerous 5 and 7 channel DSP modes to deliver the best from mono, stereo and surround recordings of all types. Built for the ultimate in performance, the Audiolab 8000AV is an impressive audiophile AV processor, so good that when What HiFi reviewed it alongside the matching 8000X7 power amplifier in their 2006 Awards issue they stated that "they are capable of a thrilling sound", going on to say "that the Audiolab pairing can sound big and bold, with bags of detail, a really expansive surround soundfield and not a hit of the hard edge that can make some AV kit - yes, even very expensive stuff - fatiguing after a while."
