Opus speakers are Wharfedale's reference design, built to the very highest standards and with an obsessive attention to detail.

On the outside, a hand-matched real wood veneer (so that the wood grain on both left and right speakers looks perfect in your listening room) is lovingly coated with several layers of lacquer over a period of days, to give an incredibly beautiful, hard-wearing, high-gloss finish.

Inside, the drivers employ sophisticated materials for strength and quality - woven carbon fibre cones for bass and soft-domed textile domes for midrange and treble. Cabinets are thick and internally braced at several points and details such as the outsized single/bi/triwirable speaker connections and chunky spikes reinforce the Opus's no-compromise design philosophy.

The Opus 3s are the top of the range, designed to deliver the grandest of soundstages from big-scale music and cinema and reveal the subtlest nuances too, giving you an image that is pin-sharp, with incredible energy. These are best suited to high-end hifi and home cinema amplifiers which can deliver 100 watts or more per channel and should be used in larger rooms where their superior, deep bass will be an asset.
