The Van den Hul D102 mk3 is designed to work in high quality Hifi systems. Incredible attention to layout and materials in the build of the cable ensures that all the detail that your source can output makes it to the amplifier unscathed.
The D102 mk3 is a balanced interconnect. This means that instead of the normal one conductor running down the middle of the cable to take the signal and the outer shielding completing the circuit there are two dedicated high quality conductors, one to take the signal and one to complete the circuit, inside extra further shielding around the outside of the cable. This keeps your delicate audio signals very well protected making the D102mk3 excellent for use with very small signals, such as from your turntable to your phono stage or from your pre-amp to your power amp, as well as other equipment like CD players and amplifiers.
The conductors themselves are made up of 40 matched crystal oxygen free copper strands and, to aid high frequency clarity, each strand is coated with a layer of very pure silver. All this is then wrapped in a layer of Van den Hul's Linear Structured Carbon - a specially designed layer to catch any stray fields escaping from the conductors and return them back into the signal where they should be - resulting in an incredibly accurate sound.
