MiniDisc is a uniquely flexible, disc-based, digital audio format. Like tape, you can record and playback, however the similarity ends there. With MiniDisc you can carry out non-linear edits, removing sections from the middle of a recording, dividing and combining tracks and changing their order, without losing any of the clean, noise-free performance of the original.
MiniDisc is ideal for recording interviews, live performances, editing on the fly or for simple music playback. Some recorders feature "HiMD" compatibility which provides greater capacity, storing up to 34 hours of audio on a single disk.
