Freeview and Freesat are free,
digital TV and radio services. Digital television means more
channels, transmitted with extra features such as interactivity, extra radio stations and a free
Electronic Programme Guide (or "EPG"). Freeview can be received through a standard indoor or roof-top antenna. Freesat, which also features High Definition (HD) channels, requires a satellite dish. You can use an existing Sky Digtial dish. Some Freeview and Freesat set-top boxes feature a Personal Video Recorder (PVR) and
even twin tuners, allowing you to watch and record combinations of different
channels, simultaneously! Coupled with the new "EPG", programming the timer is
simple.
Most people in the UK can receive the Freeview signal, however it is always best
to double check. You can
